Hello,

Recently I had a sound problem in an HP 6735s laptop running
Debian Lenny. (No sound in Ubuntu too)

lspci output showed
ATI technologies SBx00  Azalia Intel HDA

Solved by adding the following line at the end of the file
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

options snd-hda-intel model=laptop

reboot
