[ILUG-Cochin.org] No root user

Root is set with a random password by default in ubuntu and derivatives.
Change the passwd with the help of the sudo user
as
$sudo -i
#passwd
key in new root passwd.

if you want to have the gdm login u will need to edit the file /etc/gdm.conf

change Allow Root=false to Allow Root=true
