[ILUG-Cochin.org] Malayalam Fonts on Jaunty

can anyone help me to read malayalam news papers(websites of manorama,
madhyamam,deepika, kaumudi etc ) on my ubuntu 9.04 box. i tried the
following (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fonts).

i downloaded and copied fonts to .fonts in my homefolder,
/usr/share/fonts/truetype

then sudo fc-cache -f -v

but still malayalam doesnt display properly except for manorama.
