If u want to hit the road running with non-free apps like quirky
non-free codecs
like mp3,asf etc..better try a fork of ubuntu called Mint's Main Edition.
These kinda of problems wont haunt you..every essential non-free app
and plugin
is built into that 600+MB Mint GNU/Linux CD image..
http://www.linuxmint.com/download.html
linuxquestions.org and ubuntuforums.org are best place to clear you
noob doubts.
Plz search these forums for already answered queries and post ur
questions only as a last resort..
Spamming a lug mailing list with these noob queries, I believe is not
the mailing list's intended purpose and the best way forward.
