Hello

Wondering why you are not using an email client for sending emails.  
Any specific reason ? Just curious.

If you have gmail account (actually any email account that support  
SMTP), it is pretty easy to setup it in email client and send emails  
through email clients.

If you prefer using scripts and commands, why not using something  
similar to phpmailer which use SMTP (authenticated) internally ?

The 'mail' command whether it is from the prompt or using some script  
- is not a good idea (AFAIK), and as it is not authenticated, emails  
you send may end up reaching the spam / bulk folder.
