Dirt can cause the no echo. I would recommend you to clean the
keyboard. Disassemble the keyboard COMPLETELY. Clean everything in it
with soap and water, except the circuit. Then assemble it.
You may find rivets inside the keyboard. This is used to hold the parts
tightly. If there are rivets then break it and reassemble the keyboard
using nuts and bolts after the cleaning is done.
