Hi Kenney,
We already have a couple of colleges who have contacted us for starting
Free Software groups.
In Fact ILUG Cochin had conducted an open forum called "Significance of
User groups in society"
were we discussed about kickstarting groups in colleges. Teachers and
students from the
colleges were present.
One thing which was pointed out was the opposition from the authorities
for such a group.
I guess this is why these colleges have not yet been able to start their
groups yet.
Hence we can take up these specific colleges and send an email or letter
to the concerned
authority and move forward depending on the response. The colleges who
have shown interest:
- SNGIST Manjaly
- KKTM College Kodungalloor
- Sahrudaya college Kodakkara
And of course CUSAT and STAS Edappally already had a Free Software User
Group which is no
longer active, I think it is only for the students to bring it back.
Thank You
Regards
